Mishawaka offers 26 public parks, each with its own unique natural attributes. For boating enthusiasts there are four parks with boat launches into the St. Joseph River. The east section of the St. Joseph River is one of the best rivers in the state for fishing. Smallmouth bass, steelhead trout, coho salmon, Chinook salmon and walleye are plentiful in their seasons.
