The Historic Crags Lodge - What's New

January 2008

Winter is in full swing at the Historic Crags Lodge.  December brought above average snowfall both in the town of Estes Park and in Rocky Mountain National Park so 2008 will start off with ideal conditions for winter activities.

Join our Activities staff for a guided snowshoe or cross country skiing trip to some of the most beautiful and picturesque destinations in Rocky Mountain National Park.  Borrow sleds off the covered porch and take the kids to Hidden Valley for a day of snowy fun.  Of course, if you prefer to stay toasty warm, hang out by one of the two prominent fireplaces in the main lobby.  Several evenings you can find folks relaxing by the big wood-burning fireplace enjoying a mug of hot chocolate and s’mores (they’re not just for kids, you know!).

Each Tuesday we have PachaMama Yoga lead a yoga class here at the lodge.  PachaMama has been practicing yoga for over 30 years and is registered with the Yoga Alliance and Yoga Teachers of Colorado.  Classes are appropriate for beginner or intermediate levels and each participant is encouraged to progress at his or her own pace.

Fridays feature a Winery Tour & Tasting along the Riverwalk in downtown Estes Park.  Introduce yourself to the increasing popular Colorado wines while you share tales of the past week with fellow guests.

More and more of our guests are taking the day to travel to one of the many excellent downhill ski resorts.  El Dora is approximately one hour south of the Lodge and is the closest downhill resort. Please visit their website for more information: www.eldora.com.
