The Historic Crags Lodge - What's New

What's New

Summer 2010

The Golden Eagle Resort has many exciting changes! Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Crags Lodge at the Golden Eagle Resort opened in 1914, furnished completely with Old Hickory Furniture.  Through the years and the many changing of hands, much of this priceless original furniture is no longer at the property.  However, due to the diligence of past General managers, and now, most recently, Mark Fisher, General Manager, the lodge remodeled and furnished its rooms with Old Hickory furniture and period inspired design.

If you've not visited the Historic Crags Lodge it's well worth the visit. Estes Park, CO is the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, one of our nation's most magical and highly visited national treasures! Join us soon by booking your stay online, calling central reservations, or by calling us directly at 970-586-6066.

Activities

Join our Activities staff for a guided snowshoe or cross country skiing trip to some of the most beautiful and picturesque destinations in Rocky Mountain National Park.  Borrow sleds off the covered porch and take the kids to Hidden Valley for a day of snowy fun.  Of course, if you prefer to stay toasty warm, hang out by one of the two prominent fireplaces in the main lobby.  Several evenings you can find folks relaxing by the big wood-burning fireplace enjoying a mug of hot chocolate and s’mores (they’re not just for kids, you know!).

More and more of our guests are taking the day to travel to one of the many excellent downhill ski resorts.  El Dora is approximately one hour south of the Lodge and is the closest downhill resort. Please visit their website for more information: www.eldora.com.
